What is the Avalanche Network?
Avalanche leverages a unique architecture aimed at achieving scalability, security, and decentralization. For consensus, avalanche uses Proof-of-Stake but incorporates “repeated sub-sampled voting”, offering one-second finality by querying a small subset of validators on their preference if a transaction should be approved.
Another feature of Avalanche is its Subnets (sub-networks). These are sovereign blockchains that design their own rules, fee structures, and validators but are still connected to the wider Avalanche ecosystem. This connectivity, alongside independence, allows for projects and institutions to build compliant, private, or high-performance chains tailored to their specific needs.
